Design by Community is capturing the collective thoughts of Conversations readers to define the ultimate concept mobile device.
Love the idea, but not a realization.
Why:
- Feedback is collected with scrollbars with scale, that could be hard to visualize. For example on March we can propose size and shape of a phone. We manipulate scrollbars with scales which are not sufficient.
- Much better idea is to add live preview with reference point like a match that we could get the scale. I hope designers of this event will realize that form of representation of ideas might significant influence on final feedback.
- It is a pity that i cannot submit my thought about UI and display. Why there is not availability of going backward to design previous phone components?
I hope designers will try to think some more efficient and easy to understand ways to help people build their prototype. Anyway this idea of building a phone prototype could be used in social networking. Users could build and post their dream device on facebook.
